There are few things that I would sooner avoid than dancing. The prospect of voluntarily entering into an arrangement where another person gets to stand across from you and watch you “perform” while you do the same has always seemed to me utterly absurd and uncomfortable. But alas, I’ve wanted to try new things, and it wasn’t going to get much newer for me than dancing. It could certainly have been much worse than swing, which seems relatively simple and Caucasian compared to more exotic styles, or regular “club” dancing for that matter.
I went on a sunrise hike with DCF (Davis Christian Fellowship) folks, and the view from the top was amazing.
In other news, I've been extremely busy. I've been recruited to help plan a retreat for one of the groups I'm attending, and have also been put in charge of designing promotional materials for that group. Classes have also been taking up a nice chunk of time. I just submitted my application to be an R.A. next year, and I have an interview for that in a couple of weeks.
At this point, I'm just trying to enjoy and make the most out of the experience, and keep moving where God wants me to.

Wow, Landon! I am excitedly impressed at your dancing story! I'm only slightly disappointed that you beat dad and I to our swing dancing aspirations! Well, now you can teach us a few moves before we take lessons from a professional. Remember, I told you it would be fun!! That hike sounds amazing and I can tell from the picture the view must have been worth the effort!
ReplyDeleteKeep killing the comfort zone! Love You! Mom
"Kill the comfort zone". Hmmmmm, that will end up in a sermon. I promise.
